Be Strong

A few years ago, Stephanie and I set out to write a song that could be used in a special service to honor first responders and those who serve in the military. Our kid’s school at the time (Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham, Alabama) had an annual service for this purpose, and we wanted to write a song they could use.

Those who serve as first responders have a high-stress role and often find themselves in very difficult and life-threatening situations. Such people should be honored for the sacrifice they make to serve others.

As we began to write, the Lord seemed to really bless the process. Walking with the Lord, we are told that we will have trouble in this world. Our faith will be challenged every day and especially if we are desiring to walk in full obedience and surrender to our King.

God has given us great promises if we will believe Him and walk in faith. He will be with us. He will empower us. He will provide for us and sustain us. He does this for the sake of His glory and to show His love to those who love Him.

If you’re going through a difficult situation, struggling to believe God, and tempted to give up. I pray this song encourages you to hold on to Jesus and all the great promises He has made to you. Not one word of all the good promises He has made will fail (Joshua 21:45) – it will all come to pass.
