Isn’t It Amazing
When we truly think about the love of God, it should result in praise. “Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you” (Psalm 63:3). These are the words of David. He goes on to say, “So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands” (Ps 63:4).
I can relate to this thinking by David. This song was written at a time when I was feeling quite overwhelmed that God loved me. I felt so unworthy and undeserving, yet God went to great lengths to demonstrate His love — sending His one and only Son to pay the price for our sin, and making the way for us to know forgiveness and to be the friend of God. “Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered” (Psalm 32:1).
What an amazing thing, that a holy and glorious God would pour out such wonderful love upon us — “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God” (1 John 3:1). Thinking on these things makes my heart “overflow with hallelujahs.”
